9 Great Craft Breweries in South Florida
Craft breweries are booming in south Florida! We found nine breweries in south Florida that brew and sell their own beer. The two closest craft breweries are LauderAle and Funky Buddha, both of which are located in Fort Lauderdale. The furthest north, Tequesta Brewery, and the furthest south, Schnebley Brewery, each are a little more than an hour away.
Want to sample a few breweries in one swoop? The Miami Brew Bus runs Saturday and Sunday from Kush restaurant in Wynwood. Brew Bus stops include Funky Buddha Brewery, LauderAle, M.I.A Brewing and Kush. Tickets are $60, and reservations are required.

Opened in 2010, this craft microbrewerey claims to be the largest in south Florida. The venue’s tap room is open seven days a week, noon until midnight. Year-round beers include Cabana Boy Wheat Ale, Crusher Single Hop Session IPA, Doc Brown Ale, Florida Hefeweizen, Fuhgeddaboudit Red Ale, Hop Gun IPA, Missionary Blonde Ale, OP Porter and Red Dawn Red Ale. The brewer also offers seasonals, special releases and brewery exclusives.
Tours: Available three times each day on Saturday and Sunday, twice on Wednesday, for $5.

Tequesta Brewing Company, Tequesta (561-745-5000)
Opened in 2011, this operation claims to be the first micro-brewery located in south Florida. The brewer purchased a special machine that allows them to remove the carbon dioxide from recently filled growlers, which makes the beer last longer. The brewery’s three year-round beers include Julio’s Wiezen, Der Chancellor, Gnarly Barley, Terminally Ale.

Due South Brewing Company, Boynton Beach (561-463-2337)
Opened in 2011, this south Florida brewery offers a taproom onsite. In addition to Due South beers, the taproom offers more than 20 local flavors. The brewery’s products include Category 3 IPA, Category 5 IPA, Caramel Cream Ale, Honey Vanilla Wheat, and Roasted Cocoa Stout. The company also produces specialty, curiosity, seasonal and collaboration series. Due South ales are on tap throughout Boynton Beach and as far as South Miami.
Tours: Available for free on weekends at 1 p.m and 3 p.m. The VIP tour, Saturday at 2 p.m., costs $10.

Opened in 2013, this company was the first nano-brewery in southeast Florida. The company runs a small-batch, electric fired brewery that can produce up to 20 barrels of beer each month. The tasting room is open Thursday and Friday, 4 p.m. until 6 p.m, and Saturday and Sunday, noon until 10 p.m. Current beers include Immigration IPA, Heisenberg and Sizzler.

Schnebly Brewing Company, Homestead (305-242-1224)
Opened in 2012, this craft brewery was launched on the back of the company’s successful tropical winery. Previously, the company brewed its beer in central Florida and had it shipped to Homestead for distribution. It’s the southernmost brewery in the United States. Current beers available include Big Rod Coconut Ale, Gator Tail Brown Ale, Shark Bait and Vice IPA.
Tours: Available on the weekends, $7.

Saltwater Brewery, Delray Beach (561) 865-5373
Opened in 2013, this craft brewery looks to the ocean for beer names. The brewery’s tap room is made from Dade County Pine recovered from an old barn. There’s no kitchen on the premises, so patrons are encouraged to bring their own food. The brewery currently produces nearly 20 types of beer, including Spiny Tail, Sea Cow, Stinger, Coast Guard Cutter Gone Wild and Raspberry Reef.
Tours: Available Saturday and Sunday at 4 p.m., and Wednesday at 7 p.m.

Opened in 2012 as Most Wanted Brewing, this brewery has shifted to M.I.A Brewing after discovering that another distiller produces Most Wanted Vodka. The company is on track to open a tap room in Doral this year. More than 20 venues already offer M.I.A. product, which includes 305 Lager, Miami Weiss, MIA IPA, MIA Dopplebock, MIA Citrust Grove, MIA Tripel.

The Abbey Brewing Company, Miami Beach (305) 538-8110
Opened in 1995, this brewpub has a slightly different recipe for success. The brewpub’s master creates the beer recipes, and Indian River Brewing Company in Melbourne, FL, produces the product. Four Abbey creations are available on tap at the venue: The Immaculate IPA, Father Theodore’s Stout, Brother Dan’s Double and Brother Aaron’s Quadruple. All four are available on tap. The Abbey also sports a large selection of hard-to-find bottled beer, including Trappist ales and British Barley wines.

Wynwood Brewing Company, Miami
Opened in 2011, this brewpub houses Miami’s only operating brewery. The venue is located amid the graffiti murals of the city’s Arts District. The brewpub produces Pop’s Porter, LaRubia Blonde Ale and Wynwood IPA on site, as well as series brews, seasonal beer and limited-edition production runs.
